ZOOLOGIE HUNT
I'm currently digging this jacket at the moment. Its the new Hunter Jacket from Zoologie in olive. Besides having a perfect contour the length is also on point. But what I love most about it is the mixture of textures and materials. Predominantly cotton, it also has a woolen hood lining a smooth corduroy top panel and an awesome rope around the hood. It's great and Zoologie knows it. Retailing for $349.95 at the Capsule Store this one is a keeper.

FENNEL
I explored Fennel this week. Mainly because I've never tasted fennel before and it had been catching my attention during my recent visits to the grocers. So I experimented with a few things- at first sniff I thought it would go well with onions and a bit of lemon. I took it home and ended up with a few things. Firstly, the spinach sauté with grilled haloumi was great ! Fennel has this strong character that I've been finding difficult to describe. The best thing I could do was that it was like a mixture of onion and mint chewing gum. HA! The second attempt was a pasta salad where I added tomato, bacon and coriander. After my recent encounter with coriander pesto I now have an enlightened appreciation for coriander. This herb is amazing in so many ways- convenient, versatile, yummy and fresh. Oh so good. Here let's have a look at what I made !!
Hope y'all enjoyed that!

URBAN
I've always loved the urbanscape. Perhaps it's the presence of rust, the beauty embedded in dirt, the claustrophobic congestion, the incessant activity, the deafening clashes and bangs and the piercing screams of ambulance and police cars.. It's the overall speed of it all. Could it be the adrenalin? Who knows.
But what I love most about the city is its lack of space. An abiotic presence warranting the coexistence between elements both organic and inorganic. And here is where architecture shows off, art brings to reality the most vast imaginations. And culture, well it starts to speak for itself. Apparently, Japan does the urbanscape well. So does New York. But I've yet to see them for myself. For now, all I can say is, Sydney, you are one beautiful badass motherfucker.

HA HA
Came across this while strolling down the boring avenue of my newsfeed. To my surprise, something interesting has just hit the building.
Nonetheless, it was a fun read and quite interesting ;)
Enjoy!

Frankie's Pizza, Sydney
Rock and roll, and pizza!
I love going to joints right on the CBD. It gives the corporate city of Sydney more of a character. And this one is not an exception. It's pretty cool. I like the fact that it's got a restaurant vibe as you walk in and behind the second set of swing doors, is almost like a rock and roll arcade. Good vibes and good tunes. Though it can get pretty packed even during the 'quiet' days of the week. And who ever is controlling the sound system, please settle on a volume to run throughout the night. There is no need to blast it - people end up shouting on top of each other and the whole room eventually becomes this massive sound mess like its trivia or bingo night or something. Apart from that, pizzas are good. Drinks on tap are different which is always a plus- one does not always wish to be having the same yeasty beverage.
Good stuff. See y'all there!

THOUGHTFOOD
"In times of prosperity, friends are plenty. In adversity, not one in twenty. "
When you think about how many people in your life that has truly been there for you. Like really been there. You come to this realization that despite the many friends you have, the endless encounters with strangers, the new characters you meet, there's really only a handful of them that truly was there. And it's bittersweet.
On your graduation, on the highest of times and the lowest of events, the wedding, the scare, the funeral, the break-up, the make up, the retrenchment, the proposal, the retirement, the promotion, the divorce, the birth... who was there?

GINGER
No one besides the awesome Brisbane markets seems to get my fruit juice with Ginger right. WHY? It's always either not gingery enough or ginger juice, that can tear your stomach apart.

Workshop Espresso, Sydney
This is my favourite take-away espresso joint in the CBD. Friendly staff, fast, efficient and a damn good coffee! For this reason, it can have one of the longest queues I've seen for a coffee but don't be dishearten, good things come to those who wait. In this case, it will be your awesome cup of morning coffee.
The X is marked on the George St side of The Galleries Victoria. Congratulations to this joint for continuing to be awesome at what they do for the past years. They are definitely doing something right because there hasn't been a cup that I've been disappointed in.

Might see you there! x

Those little details

To my lovers,
Just to catch you up on things. My whereabouts, whoabouts and whatabouts.. A short summary on me being M.I.A.
Tumblr. For yummy pictures that catch me eyes Ive resorted to keeping my Tumblr (very fucking) alive (confession: that's where I've been these past few weeks :/ Though I try to keep it sane over there) If y'all want a piece of that, just head to justcrue.tumblr.com
Twitter. I thought Ill never get into this. But I'm on it and I'm liking it. I feel so close to these musicians I admire (not in a stalker ish kinda way). I love seeing a personal side of them and their path to music making. And just recently, I found another love: To 'watch' Live NBA. I 'witnessed' my beloved Chicago Bulls breaking the Heat ! It was quite a thrilling experience for me. Great work to the commentators, I assume it can't be easy dictating descriptions on such a fast paced game! Finally, although personally keeping record of my life wasn't what twitter was intended for, when I managed to think of something witty once in a blue moon, its nice to have somewhere to put it on with not a care in the world who reads it, what it says about me, what do I mean... Etc. it's great. Because in life, most of the time, IT IS JUST WHAT IT IS.
Facebook is still there. I tried Pinterest but it didn't appeal to me at all... Okay, I'm feeling like the queen of social network. thank god I don't see myself needing LinkedIn. Professional social networking would just be too much to handle. It won't be my forte considering the fact that I can be quite profane.
Anyway, I've got this plan to have this most cherished blogspot of mine solely for write ups- reviews, stories and those endless poetic banter I sometimes feel like doing.
I love this space, and I hope you guys do too. Ill see you all very very soon !

LIKE: AWKWARDVILLE BUT BEST MOCHA
![]() |
| Barmuda, Newtown |
Two hungry birds with gleaming smiles of excitement, we reach Australia street. The place was packed (good sign)! So we hesitated the usual bulldozer style set up shop wherever you feel like entrance and courteously waited outside instead. The waitress saw - ignored - waited for a minute- spotted an empty table for two- waited for another minute- waitress saw- nothing. Awkward. What do you do? WE awkwardly (almost rudely) go inside past everyone hypnotised with their awesomely looking aliments, towards the table AND had to actually point out the obvious to this girl - We need a table for two. There's one available right here! Can we sit down...? Immediately ordered a mocha and the usual SFW. I will have to point out, I don't mind coffee delays. I understand that there will be a 10-15 maybe sometimes 20 minute delay on the coffee during busy hours but 30? Come one that pushing it a little don't you think? If you run a joint where people had to wait that fkn long for their "coffee to start of with", that's fucked. Get another barista for fuck sake. Funny thing is the WAIT wasn't the issue, as I called for service to ensure that our coffee was on the way and not forgotten, we were met with more awkward bullshit -
Me: Hey we ordered a while back, a mocha and... (interupted by waiter dude)
Waiter dude: (in the most stoned way) You diiiiid!!?, did youuuu?
Me: (taken aback) yeah, just wondering if all is well and that its on the way.
Waiter dude: Yeeeaaa were just really busy right nowwww. Its just a little lonnnnger than exxpeccted.
Me: Oh cool. thanks :)
Me and my friend: (what the f? hahaha? awkward?)
My friend went to Planet Newtown - Bacon, bread, eggs, sausages, mushrooms and tomato; while I opted for the Monster Steak Sandwich- scotch fillet, rocket and aioli. Where my order came without the steak.... (Awkward.).
The coffees came after the food - which is totally the norm in Awkwardville. Still anticipating for the coffees - my heart felt the slowly approaching steps as the waiter places the cups down on our table. Coffee was great but across the table is where shit got real. There we were, frozen in amazement - this jaw dropping, mouth watering, sexual orgasm defying, groan producing gift from chocolate heaven in front of us. My friend is so cool and she let me have the first sip, and ITS FUCKING GOOD. And just like that, all the weird encounters and complaints before this moment dissipated into thin air. Like magic. So good and so worth it. BEST MOCHA. THERE IS CHOCOLATE MOUSSE ON THE FKN RIM! I don't know how shit can top this shit off !! Compliments to the sweet barista - he says he calls it the Chocolate Volcanic Explosion.
Oh, explosion it was indeed ;-p
